SURFACE TRAITMENT OF METALS

 

The following pages are dedicated to our neibourhood friends from ST MARTEEN , GUADELOUPE , DOMINICA , BARBADOS ,ST LUCIA ...Who are not too far to take advantages of our 30 YEARS of experiment .

We are pleased to welcome them to our site to check what they are concerned with.

 

AESTHETIC TRAITMENT

 

Consists of making a metal shine using special tools , and particular paste , or compound on polishing machine the type of metal are generally :

Copper , Silver , Bronze ,Stainless steel ... The pieces are usually personnal objets , cars , and boats to surch good appearance  and then clad with varnish

So , are treated riffles , weapons with steel burnishing 

 

MECHANICAL APPLICATIONS

 

This scope deals with mechanical pats that have lost thier originlal dimentions due to wearing effects,  the reclaiming consits of rebuilding by hot spraying of special metals (ex aluminium cylinder head , and some special bzonze bushing ) or hard chroming PLATING of actuatin pistons for trucs , and heavy excavating machines or actuating pistons used in the stearing systems . 

 

HOT METAL SPRAYING OF FABRICATED PARTS

 

This  paragraph talk about fabricating any part of goog gaged steel either as standard one which we have homogation for , or from any drawing then followed by a thick hot metal spraying ( acc. NF A 91 201 , ZN/AL 85/15 ) That will wistand harsh marine environment : galvanised roofing pieces , jonction conrete to wood  for very long times , so as diving bottles used in sea waters .

Any boat , collection cars , tools  equipment furniture , we wish to last long long times .

 First of all,  one find what's looking for ,  represented by an hyperbolla on a radar screen , since the waves travel at different speeds when crossing materials its variations will give an echo .

 

 So to find different objets or situations at deepneses from 5M TO 15 M ( reffer to the type of ground ) such as:

Targets , stones pipes , cevices , hollow pockets , water tables forensics

dissimulated objets , tresures etc...

 

It  could be a good advice to scan the ground before setting a building to avoid unpleasant surprises such as above.

USING A GEORADAR (In-situ with no destruction )

 

Let to determine , the made of steel rebars , cover , important factor , when too thin will expose the ferrous metal  to corrosion 

Scans various burried objects such as : Rebars , pipes , wires crevices , hollow portions , and humid concrete responsible of ferros metal oxydation

 

USING HALF CELL POTENTIALS

 

The  corrosion potential value is representative of the oxydation degre when  a metal is in some mediums such as

Imerged in sea or sweet water

Burried in the ground

Concrete

Particularly in the conctete ,which we are concerned with we have four LEVELS , with their particular values

 FEEBLE-200mv    Action to take    nothing

INITIATED                 -350mv        ,,    measures to put in place

ESTABLISH                -500mv       ,,    special measures to put in place

STRONGLY ESTABLISHED                    dangerous structure

 

 PYSICO CHIMICAL

   

It is of interest to know in what conditions the rebars are dwelt we recommand to perform the following quire :

 

PH   determined , from the close to rebar concrete powder

       above 12 no corrosion , as poor as  8 corrosion has field to be initiated

 

CALCIUM CARBONATE

      Due to car corrosion , reduces the PH  so , enhancing the corrosion .

 

CHLORE has  the same effect 

 

USING THE REBOUNDHAMMER ( In -situ with no destruction )

 

Just to say a choc wave is produced and cross the concrete the return wave actuates a slide which displacement is in relation to the concrete hardness.

 

A high number means a sound concrete, with no flaws , cavities, humidity, doing one body with the rebars.

 

A set  of curves for the ground ; wall and ceiling are established from standard firs class samples in the laboratory, and attached to the hammer body ;

 

The matching between the correlative curves and hammer number gives the value of the CONCRETE COMPRESSIVE FORCE
